Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) Make a difference in your community by becoming a host agency or a participant in SCSEP. Gain work experience and job skills through paid training in community service roles. Funded by the U.S. Department of Labor, SCSEP supports older adults in finding lasting jobs and financial stability, promoting a happy and healthy life. Being a Host Agency SCSEP participants gain work experience in various community service activities at non-profit and public facilities, including schools, hospitals, day-care centers, and senior centers. The program provides over 40 million community service hours to public and non-profit agencies, allowing them to enhance and provide needed services. Participants work an average of 20 hours a week. This training serves as a bridge to unsubsidized employment opportunities for participants. Benefits to Host Agency Access Skilled Workers: bring experienced, motivated individuals to your team. More Success Stories Jordan Kinsler My goal was to get my High School Equivalency HSE as fast as possible, and I was determined to make it happen. I was always really good at school, but I never liked waking up early and going. The HSE was way more convenient, and it ended up being my favorite part of the week, thanks to an awesome teacher who ensured I was well-prepared. I am proud to have passed the HSE and taken the first step toward my academic journey. Notes you COULD use the keyword "could." I am motivated to better myself thanks to my newborn nephew Expelled from school twice for attendance in 9th and 11th Neve liked school but ended up liking HSE a lot Very cool teacher and classmates My Success Story

- Rural Works
Rural Works! is an economic development strategy that offers a holistic approach to eliminating poverty. Rural Works! is based on the successful Cincinnati Works! Rural Works RVR developed the first rural, proprietary program modeled after the nationally acclaimed Cincinnati Works project, which helps individuals move from poverty to long-term stability. For individuals returning from incarceration, our Rural Works program provides workforce reintegration services, mentoring, and stabilization support. Rural Works also serves both unemployed adults and the underemployed—those working but still living in poverty. For underemployed participants, our long-term goal is to help them reach 200% of the federal poverty level and achieve economic self-sufficiency. When people become economically stable, they become taxpayers, productive community members, and no longer rely on public assistance. Our customizable workshops cover employment readiness (resumes, mock interviewing, applications), goal setting, workplace values and expectations, and much more. We work inside jails, prisons and in community settings.
