Fundraiser

Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family

Along with the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program, the Adopt-A-Family was created to address the needs of low-income families during the holidays and times of need.  Each year the Salvation Army Madison Indiana receives hundreds of applications for assistance for the Adopt-A-Family program. The families who qualify for the Adopt-A-Family program are facing significant financial hardships and are often unable to afford a Christmas dinner, new toys and warm clothing for their children. Some are single parent families with very low income and some are of large Families where a parent has been laid off from their job, have major medical expenses or facing some other significant challenge.

How Can You Help?

River Valley Resources, Inc. is proud to partner with The Salvation Army’s Adopt-A-Family program — a heartwarming and rewarding way to bring joy to families in need this holiday season. Through this partnership, River Valley Resources will adopt multiple families who are facing extreme or unique challenges during the Christmas season. The Salvation Army will provide the ages, sizes, and wish lists for each child, allowing us to make their holidays brighter. Your sponsorship or donation will help us meet the needs of these families — from warm clothing and essential items to special gifts that make the season truly magical. This is a perfect holiday project for individuals, groups, or businesses and can fit any budget. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of families right here in our community.

How the Program Works

River Valley Resources will help coordinate all sponsorships and donations for the families we adopt. If you would like to sponsor a family, simply complete the brief form below and indicate the family size you would like to support. Once confirmed, RVR will provide you with a short overview of the family’s situation, a list of household members, children’s clothing sizes, and a small holiday wish list for each child.

Sponsors are not expected to purchase every item on the list. A typical donation includes one outfit and one toy per child, along with a grocery gift card for the family. Any additional support is welcome but not required. We appreciate every sponsor and donation that helps us make the holiday season brighter for local families in need.
