A single mother with three children, dropped out of school after the 8th grade and had a very poor work history. Through WtW, IMPACT, and WIA services, she received help with transportation, child care, moving expenses, budgeting, one-on-one family counseling, "soft skills," and job search training.
She also participated in training in problem-solving and teamwork through an intense low and high ropes course. With hard work, persistence, teamwork, and much encouragement, She overcame her fear and conquered the ropes. She also conquered her fear of the work world and began her journey toward self-sufficiency.
She now works in a full time position, with benefits.
