JAG Specialist South Ripley and Jac-Cen-Del High Schools
This position is employed by River Valley Resources and will be assigned to both South Ripley and Jac-Cen-Del Schools.
8-4:30 can be adjusted to adhere to better fit school hours.
Full time Position: 37.5 hours a week
Pay: 25,000-35,000 a year based on qualifications
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Holidays (13), Retirement/Pension, Profit Sharing, after 6 months the employee earns 2.5 PTO days per month and can bank up to 225 hours.
The JAG Specialist will identify, recruit, and instruct students as part of the Jobs for America's Graduates program. The objectives of the JAG program are to help ensure students graduate, seek post-secondary education or training, obtain a job, and get started on a solid career path. The Specialist is responsible for fully implementing the JAG Model in the assigned schools, and achieving process standards and performance goals.
Functions of the job will include but are not limited to: Provide appropriate curriculum and ensure students achieve specific JAG competencies; ensure an appropriate pool of students by recruiting students and obtaining referrals from in-school Advisory Committees; administer testing programs including JAG pre/post tests and career interest surveys; ensure positive perceptions of JAG-Indiana within schools by developing and maintaining positive, effective working relationships with school personnel; advocate for the program and develop a pool of effective community support resources; provide students with guidance, counseling and support within appropriate limits or refer students to additional support services on an as-needed basis; assist students in finding and maintaining quality employment and/or post-secondary education programs upon graduation; and comply with all JAG documentation requirements in a timely fashion.
Special skills required of the JAG Specialist: Experience working with youth accompanied by knowledge of adolescent development issues; skills in human relationships, leadership, supervision and motivational techniques; basic computer skills; willing to work in a highly accountable and performance-based program; capable of working with databases and familiar with Excel; and must be able to demonstrate ability to draft lesson plans.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or 2 years experience in field; Drug Testing/Screening, Background Checks, Reference Checks; Operator's Drivers License.
